Wow, where have I been?

Well…. I wish I could tell you that I have been in some far off land exploring little villages and taking some photos, but I can’t. I have been in a pure madness marathon getting ready for the 2012 Summer Sawdust in addition to a whole bunch of other photo projects that are going on right now.

I am going to post soon about the building of my booth this year. Booth #409 (come by and check it out :) ) but in the meantime I hope you enjoy this sunset from last night. I am happy to say that it looks as though sunset season has returned to Southern California after a couple of months off.

Last night was a gem.. here you go!

Foggy Sunset

Tonight’s sunset was an interesting one. I poked my head out of the door as the sun was setting, only to see my house and the neighborhood covered in a thick blanket of fog. I could see that it wasn’t real thick so I knew to head up to the top of Laguna… this is what I saw. Enjoy :)

From the Vaults

Here’s a little blast from the past, September 20, 2005. A day, that in my mind, produced one of the top three sunsets of all time. I literally had to reduce the saturation in this image, because the natural color was too bright, just a little contrast added.

I saw these clouds setting up and I remember running down to Law Street, I was living in Pacific Beach at the time. In all the rush and hurry to get down to the beach in time for the sunset, I had forgotten to bring any other lenses, and all I had on my camera was my telephoto. I was extremely bummed out, so I don’t have any wide angled shots from that night, but I ended up being pretty happy with how that sunset turned out.

Moody Sunset

Felt good to get back down to the sand and shoot a sunset here in Laguna last night. I love traveling, I love seeing and experiencing new things, trying to find out whats around that next corner or alley. However, it is also pretty nice to be able to return back home to a place where people from all over the world come on their vacations. I may be a little spoiled (Ok, very spoiled) but I do love this little village of Laguna.

I know it’s all too cliche, but in my book nothing beats ending the day with kicking off your shoes and walking down to the beach, feeling the sand between your toes (A poor man’s massage) and chilling out, taking a few sunset pictures and allowing the constant motion of the ocean to free your mind for a few minutes and not let you think about another single thing. Sunset everyday to me is like a little mental “Get out of Jail Free” card, nothing to do but breathe.

Good lil’ Week of Sunsets

The week of February 14th has given us some nice eye candy to soak in. I was fortunate enough to be down at the beach to shoot pictures of a couple of them…. All were taken near Sleepy Hollow, Laguna Beach. The one lone shot from San Diego…
