Over the past two days we have been hit by the biggest SW of the summer by far and also one of the biggest in recent years. The Swell originated in the South Pacific (Tahiti/Cook Islands region) and took about a week to get here, but once it did it was definitely felt.
A 50 year old body surfer was washed up on the rocks yesterday at the Wedge in Newport and was killed by this swell. Wedge was absolutely huge……18-20 ft. with even larger sets. Below are some of the pictures I took at sunset and also this morning.
Needless to say the Newport lunacy was in full affect, there had to be several thousand people on the beach at Wedge watching the madness!!!

I was a little late getting my hands on my housing which was getting fixed, but I got a couple of Laguna barrels
